HICKSON & DADAJEE PRIVATE LIMITED (HD) having its Registered Office at Shree Pant Bhuwan,Mamasaheb Warerkar Bridge, Mumbai - 400 007, was previously a closely held Public Limited Company incorporated in 1953 and promoted by Rane Family in collaboration with M/s. SULPHUR DYES LTD, UK (formerly known as HICKSON & WELCH LTD.).

The Company hired a factory site at Sewree, Mumbai and started its manufacturing activities of Sulphur Black, the product used for textile dyes. The Company appointed several dealers all over India and also with the help of many more other direct Consumers. Within a short period, the Company became a largest manufacturer and seller of Sulphur Black in India. In the year 1957, the Company acquired its own 15 acres land at Goregaon (East), Mumbai and shifted the manufacturing activities from Sewree to Goregaon. Afterwards, the Company expanded its manufacturing activities and apart from manufacturing of Sulphur Black, started to manufacture the Optical Brightening Agents (Photines) being incorporated for making Soaps, Detergents, etc. The Company started manufacturing of Synthetic food colours and was pioneer in this field.

The Company then in the year 1982 acquired 16 acres of leasehold land from CIDCO at Tarapur, Dist. Thane and started manufacturing of Intermediates for Dyes & Pigments.

In the year 2002, M/s. Flameproof Control Gears Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, FCG Group, largest manufacturer of Explosion-proof Electrical Equipments joined its hand with HICKSON & DADAJEE PVT. LTD., to strengthen the company's manufacturing activities as well as to develop the company's land at Goregaon since the Company has shifted its manufacturing activities from Goregaon to Tarapur.

The Group is managed professionally and the day-to-day functions are being looked by its two co-promoters - Mr. Naran G. Patel, Chairman and Mr. Navin Patel, Managing Director, who are having wide experience in the field and now successfully taken-over the reins of the organization.
